Message attorneys get a percentage of the settlement. Usually, this is one-third of your settlement. Another one-third goes to the doctors/therapists for liens, but I'm assuming insurance is paying up for the bills. You get the last one-third of your settlement. They may require an initial retainer fee which can range on an average from a couple thousand to five thousand dollars.
